최근 화두로 떠오르고 있는 자전거 이용자의 통행 행태를 파악하기 위하여 유형별 통행사슬로 분류하여 자전거 통행에 영향을 주는 가구, 개인, 토지이용 및 통행특성 변수를 규명하고자 하였다. 2006년 수도권 가구통행 실태조사 자료를 이용하여 단순 직장, 복합 직장, 단순 비직장, 복합 비직장의 4가지로 분류하고 일반특성 및 통행특성을 분석하였으며, 자전거 통행에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하기 위해 자전거 통행수를 종속변수로 하는 순서형 프로빗 모형을 구축하여 결과를 비교․분석하였다. 자전거 통행수에 대한 모형분석 결과, 직장관련 통행사슬의 경우 고용밀도가 높은 곳에 거주하거나 승용차를 보유하지 않거나 적게 보유한 가구의 여성이 단거리 통행에 자전거를 많이 이용하는 것으로 나타났다. 비직장 관련 통행사슬의 경우 자전거도로가 잘 구축되어 있는 지역에 거주하는, 가구소득이 200만 원 이상인 가구의 남성이 단거리 통행에 자전거를 많이 이용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 고려할 때 자전거가 단거리 통행에 주로 이용되고 있으므로 자전거 보관소 등 근린 생활권 단위의 자전거 인프라 시설 보급에 우선을 두어야 할 것이며, 자전거 관련 안전 정책 등을 수립할 때에도 이를 염두에 두어야 할 것이다. 또한 자전거의 이용을 높이기 위해서는 대중교통과의 연계방안을보다 강구해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
To analyse the travel behaviour of bicycle users, trips of 2006 Seoul Metropolitan Area Household Travel Survey have been classified into the following four types of trip chaining: as simple work, complex work, simple non-work, and complex non-work. Descriptive analysis and built ordered probit models for work and non-work trip chaining types. were conducted, after which the model results have been compared. The model results show that women who own no or few cars and live in places with higher employment density usually use their bikes for the work trip chain. Meanwhile, men who earn monthly household incomes exceeding 2 million won and live where bike paths are well established are likely to ride bikes for the non-work trip chain. The results seem to correspond to those from the descriptive analysis. As bikes are mostly used for short trips, these findings could be considered to establish bicycle policies regarding on dissemination, neighborhood facilities, and safety with the ultimate goal of improving connectivity with public transportation.
