초록
Driving Stress Scale is a self-report inventory which focuses on the five stress factors occurred while driving; progress obstacle, traffic circumstance, accident and regulation, regulation observance, and time pressure. Regarding 38 questions which composed of five driving stress factors, respondents were supposed to score driving stress intensities and driving stress frequencies which they suffered over the past year. For this study, data on driving stress was collected from 1,883 drivers and a two-parameter graded response model was applied to develop a short form of Driving Stress Scale. First, preliminary items for short form were abstracted based on item discrimination and item information values which belong to the item validity index, and final items for short form were selected through examination of correlation coefficient and alpha if item was deleted. Correlation, test-retest reliability, and Cronbach's α for each scale were examined to check the reliability of the short form. As a result, it was confirmed that correlation with original scale was valid with the range of .80~.87 for each subfactor. In addition, it was identified that there is a significant correlation between DSS-SF and DBI-Gen, and group with high driving stress showed higher risk of car accident which was statistically significant, compared to low driving stress group. The result means that newly constructed Driving Stress Scale-Short Form has valid reliability and validity compared to original scale. This can be considered that applicability of Driving Stress Scale-Short Form is suggested in the study which aims at sorting or in the time-limited data collection field related to the driver's driving stress study. Lastly, limitations and supplement points that can occur when the Driving Stress Scale-Short Form was used with drivers, are discussed.
