미시마유키오(三島由紀夫)의 『사드후작부인(サド侯爵夫人)』은 1965년 11월에 河出書房新社에서 간행된 희곡이다. 제목의 사드후작(サド侯爵)은 프랑스의 소설가 마르키 드 사드이다. 미시마유키오의『사드후작부인』은 여섯 명의 여성의 이야기를 통해서, 사드상을 만들어 나가고 있다. 등장인물은 사드후작의 배우자인 어머니와 그 지인을 합친 여섯 명의 여자들이다. 소설 중 사드는 부재하면서 극 전체의 초점이 되어 있다. 여섯 명의 여성들에 의해서만 만들어진 사드상은 어떤 것일까. 미시마유키오는 어떤 표현기법을 이용하고 이 작품을 만들어간 것일까? 이 글에서는 『사드후작부인』의 구성 및 미시마유키오의 창작방법을 찾아 그 규명 작업을 통해서 작품에서 그려진 사드상을 밝혔으며, 미시마유키오의 사도 이해 및 작품의 성격을 규명했다.
Abstract
Mishima Yukio’s play Madame de Sade was published by Kawadeshoboshinsya in November 1965. The name Sade was after the French novelist Marquis de Sade (1740-1814). The above play narrates Sade, who has never appeared on stage, yet the protagonist is shaped up by means of six female characters, i.e., Sade’s wife, wife’s mother and his friends. This paper, therefore, investigates how the six female characters dramatize the image of Sadewho forms the focal point of the play. On another level, while analyzing the structural significance of the work, the paper also discusses how Mishima Yukio presents his understandingofSade.There is a paradigmatic analysis of the making of the play and the techniques with which Mishima Yukio applies to formulate the intricate and metaphysical world of the work. Finally, there will also be additional discussion of the importance of memory to Madame Sade as well as the linkage between memory and what Mishima intends to resolve.This is a study of the paradigm of Mishima Yukio that combines the form, meaning and the metaphysical realms that go beyond the linguistic analysis.
