현재 고전문학의 연구와 교육에 있어서 영상이라는 매체를 무시하는 것은 현실적이지 않다. 만화나 애니메이션은 물론, 영화도 고전문학을 이해하고 감상하는 중요한 수단으로, 이번에는 영화를 연구의 대상으로 삼았다. 특히 1950년대의 세 작품, 「겐지 모노가타리」, 「오하루의 일생」, 「치카마츠 이야기」를 선정하여 검토하고자 한다. 이 작품들은 고전작품을 소재로 제작된 영화 중 시기적으로 가장 오래된 것들이다. 그리고 현재의 고전문학 연구의 기초가 형성된 시기에 제작되었다는 점에서도 주목할 만하다. 또한 당시 일본의 정치외교 상황과도 밀접한 관계가 있다고 상정할 수 있다. 세 작품은 각각 다른 성격을 지니고 있고, 문학작품의 영상화의 몇 가지 패턴을 보여준다. 앞으로도 문학 작품은 다양한 형태로 소개될 것이고,. 특히 한국의 연구 환경에서는 일본 고전문학을 외국 문학으로 수용하고 있으므로, 이와 같은 상황에서 영상을 어떤 식으로 대해야 할 지를 모색하는 것이 본고의 목적이다.
Abstract
Currently, it is not realistic to ignore images in the study and education of classical literature. Movies, animations, and of course comics are also important tools for understanding and appreciating classical literature. This time, I targeted movies. In particular, I will select and examine three works in the 1950s, "Genji Monogatari," "The Life of Oharu," and "The Crucified Lovers." These works are the oldest films made on the subject of classic works. It should also be noted that it was produced at the time when the foundation of current classical literary research was formed.In addition, a close association can be assumed with the political and diplomatic situation in Japan at that time. Each of the three works has a different character and shows some patterns of visualization of literary works. Literary works will continue to be introduced in various forms. Especially in our environment, we accept Japanese classical literature as foreign literature. The purpose of this paper is to find out how to interact with the image in that state.
