본 연구는 기호의 의미 체계로 환원되지 않는 사진의 이질적 시간성을 조명하고, 이를 체계적으로 논의하기 위한 토대연구이다. 이는 두 가지 목적의식에서 출발한다. 첫째, 사진을 바라보는 주체가 경험하는 존재론적 사태—즉 장면 속에서 다층적인 시간이 감각되는 방식—를 분석하고, 이러한 현상이 매체의 기술적·역사적 기원과 발전 속에서 어떻게 작동하는지를 규명하는 것이다. 둘째, 이러한 논의를 통해 오늘날 예술사진 커뮤니케이션의 학술적 논의 범주를 확장하고, 후속 연구를 위한 이론적 토대를 마련하는 것이다.
Abstract
This study lays the groundwork for a systematic discourse on the heterogeneous temporality of photography, which cannot be reduced to a semiotic system of meaning. It is driven by two primary objectives. First, it seeks to analyze the ontological event experienced by the viewing subject—specifically, the way in which multiple layers of time are perceived within a photographic scene—and to elucidate how this phenomenon operates within the technological and historical origins and development of the medium. Second, through this investigation, the study aims to expand the academic discourse on contemporary artistic photography and its communicative modes, thereby establishing a theoretical foundation for future research.
