초록
This paper examines the pseudocleft constructions in various languages and provides a typology of pseudoclefts based on their form. First, focusing on the precopular part, it will be shown that there are two types of pseudoclefts-interrogative type and free relative type-based on what heads the precopular elements. Secondly, the pivot of pseudoclefts is closely examined. More specifically, it is shown that the current question-answer pair analysis for specificational pseudoclefts must be revised to conform to constituency considerations and this is shown to lead to a proper account for the contrast between specificational pseudoclefts and predicational pseudoclefts.
