The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential benefits of a writing tool, Criterion, in L2 writing and the attitudes of secondary English teachers when using the tool in a teacher training program. 28 secondary English teachers participated in this study. The English Writing Proficiency Test, ESTP-Writing, was used to measure the improvement in the writing skills of teachers. Questionnaire items related to teachers' attitudes regarding the use of this writing tool in L2 writing were also used. Inferential statistics were used to analyze the quantitative data, and open-ended questions and group interviews were used to interpret the qualitative data. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) Criterion is useful to improve the quality of teachers' writing 2) English proficiency and teaching experience affect teachers' attitudes regarding the effect of Criterion. Writing proficiency, teaching experience, and attitude toward Criterion are also associated. 3) The analysis of qualitative data showed positive opinions concerning the function of revision and comment in Criterion and negative opinions regarding the quality and types of feedback.
