Abstract
This study attempted to investigate the differences vowel articulatory space and speech formant between Parkinson’s disease group and normal aging group. Also this study investigate the relationship between vowel articulatory space and speech formant. 32 subjects participated in study(8 subjects are Idiopathic Parkinson’s disease and 24 subjects are normal aging elders). The experimenter explained the subjects the experimental conditions and procedures and demonstrated the procedures, prior to the experiment. The Praat(ver. 5145) was used to record data and analysis. The result of this study showed that the difference vowel articulatory space and speech formant between Parkinson’s disease group and normal aging group were not significant. And the differences between comparison of speech formant of Parkinson’s disease group and nornal aging group, about imperative sentence were significant. lastly according to graph no. 3-3 to 3-6 about vowel articulatory space and speech formant, they are not including imperative sentence except control women group.
