Abstract
This study developed a flow-based therapy for stroke patients to evaluated the effectiveness. By targets to clinical occupational therapists 12 and academic experts 3, conducted focus groups interviews and individual depth interviews, we developed flow-based therapy based on this. This study was conducted at D hospital located in Daegu from March 2016 to April 2016, patients diagnosed with stroke were selected according to select the study targets. Seventeen patients with experimental group receive basic rehabilitation and flow-based therapy, seventeen patients with control group receive basic rehabilitation and traditional occupational therapy for 30 minutes per each session five times a week for total four weeks. Before and after intervention, we compared activities of daily living, quality of life and flow, the following results were obtained. First, experimental group and control group presented significant statistical difference before and after intervention on activities of daily living, and experimental group demonstrated more improve than the control group activities of daily living. Second, experimental group and control group presented significant statistical difference before and after intervention on quality of life, and experimental group demonstrated more improve than the control group quality of life. Third, experimental group and control group presented significant statistical difference before and after intervention on flow, and experimental group demonstrated more improve than the control group flow. These result demonstrate that the flow-based therapy improve flow, activities of daily living, and quality of life, therefore is expected to be useful in clinics.
