시각장애인의 전시 문화예술품 관람 접근성 요구 분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to derive and analyze the needs of people with visual disabilities for access to the museum's exhibition art and technical supports. To do so, 50 people with visual disabilities were selected, and Focus Group Interview was conducted. Interview questions were categorized into four subjects by extracting and classifying interview themes that fit the research topic through repetitive discussions by the research topic-based coding method. As a result of the study, satisfaction was expressed about a listening device that supported to appreciate exhibited artworks and a mock-up experience program that allowed direct tactile experience. However, they expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of support facilities and services and lack of efficient explanation for appreciating art works.The participants said that supporting the viewing of the exhibition from the perspective of people with visual disabilities and accessing the exhibition art objects through direct experience was an important factor in enhancing the understanding of exhibition. They demanded that standards for efficient access should be established by reflecting great understanding the characteristics of people with visual disabilities. It is necessary to establish a system that can comprehensively support the sense of touch, hearing, and residual vision so that people with visual disabilities can effectively access the exhibited artwork.
