직업재활사들의 보조공학에 관한 필요성 및 인식도 조사

초록

본 연구는 2007년 5월에서 8월 말까지 4개월 동안 1차와 2차에 걸쳐 전국 130곳의 재활복지관에 재직 중인 직업재활사들에 대한 우편 설문을 실시하였으며, 138명의 응답지를 분석에 사용하였다.연구 결과에 따르면, 보조공학에 대한 인식도에 있어서 보조공학을 알고 있는 사람이 91.3%로 나타났으나, 보조공학 정보에 대한 만족도는“보통이다”라는 응답자를 제외하면 만족하지 않는 응답자(30.2%)가 만족한다는 응답자(18.3%)보다 많은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 보조공학 서비스의 제공이 장애인 고용창출에 효과를 높일 것이다라는 응답이 81.2%로 나타났다. 하지만, 재활공학이 직업재활 서비스 제공에서 차지하는 비중에 대한 질문에는 77.5%의 응답자들이 0~40%정도라고 답하여 보조공학 서비스 확대를 위한 대책마련이 요구됨을 지적했다. 연구의 결과를 근거로 직업재활에 있어서 보조공학 서비스의 확대를 위한 방안과 보조공학에 대한 홍보와 정부의 지원 및 확대의 필요성을 제안하였으며, 지역적인 보조공학 센터의 확충의 필요성을 제시하고자 했다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate an awareness as well as a necessity of assistive technology among vocational rehabilitation specialists serving people with disabilities in Korea in order to facilitate the application of assistive technology in their practice. A mail survey was conducted and 138 have participated in the investigation. Findings indicated that a majority(91.3%) of participants were aware of assistive technology. In addition, 81.4% of respondents believed that the utilization of assistive technology would contribute to promoting employment of people with disabilities. However, more respondents expressed dissatisfaction with information provided regarding assistive technology. Further, 77.5% of participants indicated that the perceived level of importance for assistive technology in the vocational rehabilitation services is not very significant suggesting appropriate measures would be necessary in order to promote the utilization of assistive technology services. Future suggestions to facilitation the use of assistive technology in the practice of vocational rehabilitation is provided. Finally, suggestions to effectively disseminate information regarding assistive technology and a governmental support needed to accomplish this aim was discussed.
