또래대화에 나타난 경중등도 지적장애 청소년의 청자역할 특성

초록

이 연구는 지적장애 청소년의 대화 속 청자역할 특성을 분석해보고 청자역할을 수행하는데 부족한 하위영역이 무엇이며 대화를 방해하는 요인은 무엇인지 알아보고자 하는데 목적이 있었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 경도 지적장애인 7명, 중등도 지적장애인 7명, 일반인 7명의 의사소통을 분석하였다. 대화 상황에서 청자역할의 특성을 분석하기 위해서는 청자역할 점검표를 이용하였다. 이 청자역할 점검표는 5개의 상위영역으로 구성되어 있으며 각 주제에 따라 하위항목 30개로 구성되어 있다. 경중등도 지적장애 청소년의 청자역할 총점의 차이를 살펴보기 위해서 5개의 영역에 대하여 one way ANOVA를 실시하였으며, 경도와 중등도에 따른 청자특성 빈도수를 알아보기 위해서 빈도분석(frequency analysis)을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 청자역할에서 세 집단 간 ‘경청하기’에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, ‘맞장구치기’, ‘말하는 중 돕기’, ‘응대하기’, ‘끝난 뒤 돕기’, ‘화제의 진행’ 모두에서는 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 여러 항목 중에서 가장 큰 차이를 보인 항목은 ‘응대하기’였는데, 경도 집단의 지적장애 청소년이 중등도 집단의 지적장애 청소년보다 적극적으로 대화를 이어나갈 수 있도록 유도하였다. 이러한 결과들은 지적장애인이 가지고 있는 인지적 결함으로 인한 의사소통의 제한으로 생각되며, 앞으로 경도와 중등도 집단이 지니는 화용적 특성에 따라 의사소통 중재 방법을 달리해야 함을 시사해준다. 아울러 지적장애 청소년의 의사소통을 위해 더 많은 기초연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Abstract

This study was intended to analyze the characteristics of the Listener role of the Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities in conversation and learn about what is the subarea insufficient to perform the Listener’s role and what are the factors of obstructing conversation. This purpose become basic data for intervention program suited for conversation aspects of the intellectually disabled. For this study, analysis was made using data of a survey of 14 Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities students of ○○ University located in Gyeongsan city, Gyeongbuk, and 7 ordinary persons in the same age group, with the following chief results of the study. repeating The results as follows. First, performance in subareas for 3 groups was compared by analyzing the difference in Listener role during conversation between the intellectually disabled and ordinary persons. For the 3 groups, there were significant differences found in all items except ‘listening.’ This verified that in Listener role the Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities have the same performance in ‘listening’ as ordinary persons. To conclude, communication-related factors clarified in this study can have a large suggestion in guiding the Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities for communication. Besides, since each Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities has a large individual difference, intervention target should be set by evaluating personal communication ability and following the results.
