Abstract
This study was conducted to analysis the characteristics and effects of self-compassion art therapy programs in korea and abroad through systematic literature review. Literature search was performed using google scholar for abroad, Korea research information service site RISS for Korea und included final 7 studies(5 in abroad, 2 in korea) matching the selection criteria in the analysis. The general characteristics, level of quality and characteristics and effects of program interventions in the selected literature were analyzed and presented in a table. The results of this study were as follows: First, self-compassion art therapy has been steadily announced for 3 years on 1 study in 2018, 4 in 2019, and 2 in 2020, and it is reported that 57% with adults and 1 article had received IRB approval. Second, 2 studies were randomized controlled trials design, 2 studies were two groups nonrandomized studies and 3 studies were one group nonrandomized studies. Third, self-compassion art therapy program consisted of psycho-education, experiential aspect, creative expression activities and verbal integration. Fourth, the self-compassion art therapy program has helped to improve self-compassion, empathy and psychological well-being, quality of life, and resilience. It was effective in improving positive attitude toward death, emotional regulation and reducing burnout, depression, negative emotions, and trauma-related shame. As a result, self-compassion art therapy is an effective approach for psychological prevention as well as improving the mental health and quality of life of people without disabilities suffering from COVID-19, as well as people with disabilities who may be relatively more vulnerable to disaster. It is expected to be used as an important basic data in developing and applying more self-compassion art therapy programs in the future.
