중국의 동북공정과 한국 역사학계의 대응: 고구려사 인식을 중심으로

Abstract

This article is an observation of Korean historian's responses to China's Northeast Project. The repercussions that China's Northeast Project, which began in 2002, has produced in the Korean society and Korea's historian community is considerable. To the extent that Korea's historian community was able to diversify its views on the history of Korea in the process of responding to China's Northeast Project, it achieved certain results not to be ignored. However, there remains a room for introspection in several regards. First, the response to the Northeast Project centered on the claim for Koguryo history. While the claim was in itself an important issue, the historian community's tendency to ride on the social craze for Koguryo history is to be regretted. Second, the community focused on criticizing the scholarly weakness of Chinese historians' assertions without reflection upon the theoretical basis of the national history. It is to be noticed that Chinese historian community's theory for annexation of Koguryo history to China is progressing from a theory of race and Diplomatic Relation to a territorial theory. Third, the criticism on nationalism and theory on East Asian Community appeard through criticisms of China's historical perception. they criticized on the Korea's nationalistic historical view ; however, it ended up being the discoursion without alternative historica description.
