초록
This study intended to examine the dolmen society and culture of Haman region more intensively in various angles instead of using the conventional approach which focuses on formal classification or chronological record of the historical sites and relics relating to dolmens. Haman is divided into three river basins. Since each basin divided spatially, it was understood that each basin area had dolmen constructing community. Meanwhile, according to the sexes of the human bones excavated in the Bronze Age remains in the Southeastern region of Korea, owners of the tombs, including dolmens, in the agricultural community society, such as Haman, during the Bronze Age were mainly male, who are very likely the patriarchal heads of the community of households. The Bronze Age burial system, such as dolmens and stone coffin tombs, were rare in the early period and spread in the late period. In particular, it is deemed that the owners of the tombs gradually changed from leader to ruler. According to the examination of the arrangements and relics of each dolmen group centered on the latter half of the Bronze Age, The rank is divided even within the group depending on whether elite grave goods are buried with the body. This is an important clue that shows the hierarchical progression and is associated with the next period, which is the Byeonhan(弁韓) Period. Dohang-ri dolmens in the Hamancheon basin is understood as the highest ranking settlement and the center of ritual in the late Bronze Age (latter half) in the Haman region due to excellent site condition, petroglyph, and luxurious funeral . The center of a ritual develops into the center of politics. The presence of Dohang-ri dolmens, which is the most concentrated dolmens and the center of ceremonies in the Hamancheon basin, in the same hill as the Dohang-ri Tombs, has great implications in relation to the growth of early political body.
