Abstract
Tricontinentalism is theoretical elaboration to go beyond the Historicism, the dominant form in the history of (western) marxism, learn to hear the voices of subaltern outside West, and finally reach a transculturated marxism. In doing so tricontinentalism, especially the one begun by Robert Young, appreciates the so called 'post-structuralism' on the assumption that we can regard it as a 'Franco-Maghrebian' liberation theory and a transculturated maoism. Althusser is located at the nodal point in the formation of tricontinentalism. 'Althusser-Effect' is a term to be allowed to point both the location and actuality of Althusser in the path toward tricontinentalism. The term represents a unique theoretical conjuncture or conceptual constellation, which have been comprised of the encounter between althusserian texts and some wholly other practices unanticipated by them. We might find the historical cases of 'Althusser-Effect' through first Latin america, and then subalternist project. In the wake of Cuban revolution Althusser`s thought was introduced on the continent as opening a new marxism to response to the questions raised by Cuban experience. We could say that 'Althusser-Effect' in Latin America was a revolutionary one. On the other side, subalternist project, which has brought to focus on the subaltern consciousness in the state of insurgency as singular one that is irreducible to any Subject, supplements the theoretical antihumanism, so that it exposes the internal tension of 'Althusser-Effect'. In such a sense that project has been and is an 'Althusser -Effect to come'.
