내국인과 이민자 집단 간의 생활만족도, 영향요인 및 매개요인에 관한 비교 연구

A Comparative Study on Life Satisfaction, the Influencing Factors and Mediating Factors Between Koreans and Immigrant Groups

초록

우리 사회에서 이민자의 규모가 증가하고 이들이 우리 사회의 구성원으로 생활한다는 측면에서 내국인과 이민자에 대한 생활만족도 비교 연구가 필요하다. 이와 같은 맥락에서 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라에 거주하는 내국인과 이민자 집단 간의 생활만족도 수준, 생활 만족도에 영향을 미치는 영향요인 및 매개 요인들을 비교 분석하고, 이를 토대로 이론적·정책적 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 김포시에 거주하는 내국인(288명)과 이민자(77명) 365명의 설문조사 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내국인과 이민자의 생활만족도 요인 중 건강 수준(3.48/5점), 사회경제적 수준(3.40점), 주거환경 수준(3.47점), 여가활동 수준(3.44점), 가족간 신뢰 수준(4.21점), 사회적·인적네트워크 수준(2.46점)은 비슷한 수준을 보인다. 다만, 지역안전 수준 만은 이민자(3.72점)가 내국인(3.49점)보다 더 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 내국인과 이민자의 생활만족도 수준은 이민자(3.66/5점)와 내국인(3.60점) 두 집단의 생활만족도가 보통 이상으로 비슷하고 통계적으로 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 내국인과 이민자 집단 모두의 생활 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 건강 수준(b=0.422), 지역안전 수준(b=0.147), 여가활동 수준(b=0.070), 연령(b=0.008), 학력(b=0.174)으로 나타났다. 이는 건강 수준이 높을수록, 지역이 안전하다고 인식할수록, 여가활동이 많을수록, 연령이 높을수록, 학력이 높을수록 생활만족도가 높다는 것을 의미한다. 넷째, 내국인과 이민자 여부에 따른 생활 만족도 차이 분석 결과, 건강 수준, 여가활동 수준 변수가 유의미한 조절 효과를 나타났다. 즉, 건강 수준이 좋은 이민자일수록, 여가활동 수준이 많은 내국인일수록 생활만족도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 사회적 관계(가족간 관계, 사회적·인적네트워크)의 매개효과의 분석 결과, 내국인의 경우, 건강수준, 여가활동 수준이 가족간 신뢰라는 매개변수를 통해 생활만족도를 높였고, 또한 건강수준, 지역안전 수준이 사회적·인적 네트워크라는 매개변수를 통해 생활만족도를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 이민자의 경우, 가족간 신뢰 만이 사회적·인적네트워크라는 매개변수를 통해 생활만족도를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 이민자들의 사회적·인적 네트워크를 강화하기 위한 정책제언을 제시하였다.

Abstract

In terms of increasing the size of immigrants in our society and living as members of our society, a comparative study on living satisfaction between Koreans and immigrants is needed. In this context the purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the level of life satisfaction between the Korean and immigrant groups living in Korea, the influencing factors and mediating factors that affect life satisfaction, and present theoretical and policy implications based on this. To this end, survey data of 365 people, including Koreans (288) and immigrants (77) residing in Gimpo-si, were analyzed. The study results are summarized as follows. First, among the life satisfaction factors of Koreans and immigrants, health level (3.48/5 points), socioeconomic level (3.40 points), residential environment level (3.47 points), leisure activity level (3.44 points), and family trust level (4.21 points), and the level of social and human networks (2.46 points) show similar levels. However, in terms of regional safety, immigrants (3.72 points) were higher than Koreans (3.49 points). Second, as for the level of life satisfaction of Koreans and immigrants, the living satisfaction levels of immigrants (3.66/5 points) and Koreans (3.60 points) were more than average and there was no statistical difference. Third, factors affecting the life satisfaction of both Koreans and immigrants include health level (b=0.422), local safety level (b=0.147), leisure activity level (b=0.070), age (b=0.008), and educational background. (b=0.174). This means that the higher the health level, the safer the area, the more leisure activities, the higher the age, the higher the education level, the higher the life satisfaction. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the difference in life satisfaction according to Koreans and immigrants, variables in health level and leisure activity level showed significant moderating effects. In other words, it was found that immigrants with better health levels and Koreans with more levels of leisure activities had higher life satisfaction. Finally, as a result of analyzing the mediating effect of social relationships (family relationships, social and human networks), in the case of Koreans, health level and leisure activity level increased life satisfaction through the parameters of family trust, and also health level and level of local safety increased life satisfaction through the parameter of social and human networks. On the other hand, in the case of immigrants, only family trust increased life satisfaction through the parameter of social and human networks. Based on the results of this study, policy recommendations were presented to strengthen the social and human networks of immigrants.
