초록
This paper concerns the question of theorize a theory among linguistic theories or explanations that have the same empirical coverage but a different amount of theoretical explanatory power. It then brings up the issues as to what 'theoretical virtues' must be taken into consideration in selecting one theory over the others. It aims at convincing that the minimalism is best understood as a "theory-theorizer" to provide evaluative measures which lead GB theories "beyond explanatory adequacy."
Abstract
This paper concerns the question of theorize a theory among linguistic theories or explanations that have the same empirical coverage but a different amount of theoretical explanatory power. It then brings up the issues as to what 'theoretical virtues' must be taken into consideration in selecting one theory over the others. It aims at convincing that the minimalism is best understood as a "theory-theorizer" to provide evaluative measures which lead GB theories "beyond explanatory adequacy."
