The aim of this study is to reveal the pitch patterns of disyllabic words in Daegu dialect. It is well known that Daegu dialect included in Kyungsang Koreans is lexical(phonological) tone language, of which tonal types of disyllabic words can be classified 3 types : HH, HL, LH. The distinctive phonetic differences of these 3 tonal types have not been revealed yet, and there is disagreement about pitch values among prior researches. We performed particularly experiments on pitch pattern of 3 tonal types in order to uncover the phonetic nature of H-tone. We observed melodic curve-figures, pitch values, and pitch ranges, so consequently argued on H-tone according to contrast of 3 tonal types.
