The present study investigates the effect of L2 learners’ individual factors on their perceptions of written corrective feedback (WCF) in Korea. Especially, regarding the effect of individual factors, the present study focuses on L2 learners’ different writing proficiency levels and their different study experience in English-speaking countries. For those purposes, the questionnaire data were collected from 106 secondary school L2 learners and analyzed through the Chi- square test and the One-way ANOVA test. Grounded in the effect of two individual factors, the present study shows the following findings: Overall, the participants reveal very positive perceptions of WCF and acknowledge the necessity and significance of WCF for enhancing their writing proficiency; however, their perceptions of specific WCF types and proper timing are various according to each participant’s writing proficiency level and study experience. Implications for L2 education and suggestions for future WCF research are also discussed.
