Abstract
This study analyzed factors influencing English vocabulary size and depth across middle and high school EFL learners. For middle school students, grammar, time spent on vocabulary learning, strategy, and intentional learning methods significantly affected vocabulary size, while vocabulary depth was influenced by diary keeping and the same factors. For high school students, vocabulary size was influenced by English reading time, grammar knowledge, vocabulary learning time, learning strategies, and both incidental and intentional learning methods. Vocabulary depth was affected by similar factors, including English diary keeping and learner attitude.
