Abstract
The purpose of this article is to reveal the difference between Euclid's common notion and Gadamer's common sense. The difference is largely divided into two. First, Euclid 's common notion led to an understanding of the world as a reasoning thought, while Gadamer's common sense turned his attention to the act of Dasein. This work is necessary in order to establish a starting point from which the system of Euclid, so-called geometry, can be correctly understood throughout philosophy. In logic, what is common between the truth of logic and the truth of axiom is that we do not know anything about reality. In other words, logic and axioms do not say anything about reality. In this sense, logic can be said to manage the sanitation of our minds. The reason is that the formal system of logic and axioms is made up of symbols. In this sense, logic and axioms must be regarded as psychological laws and pure deductible consequences. Despite these facts, however, mathematicians are still leaning toward 'subjective thinking' that meaning cannot be removed from the formal system. In other words, the meaning arrives despite the greatest effort to make the signs meaningless. However, philosophers who attempted to solve the mystery of consciousness are even more surprised that they did not mention almost anything along the lines of subjective thought. Gadamer's efforts choose common sense as a general rule of choice that can be applied to all situations, noting that the truth of logic and the truth of axioms cannot explain the world. Common sense is the act of establishing and communicating rules on nature as a land. Thus Gadamer's philosophical goal is to establish his philosophical foundation from where logic and axiom leave nothing to explain.
