본 논문은 디지털 기술혁명이 촉발한 플랫폼 시대의 플랫폼 역량 함양을 위한 ‘융합교양’의 필요성을 확인하고, 그 모형으로 ‘Big Question 교육’을 가능성의 차원에서 제시하고자 한다. 플랫폼 역량이란 플랫폼상에서 다양한 분야 간의 지적 연대를 통해 새로운 창의적 결과를 산출하는 협력적 창의성을 의미하며, 이러한 의미에서 플랫폼은 전문성과 공감적 개방성을 조건으로 갖는다. 이 플랫폼 역량 함양을 위한 교육을 우리는 ‘융합 교육’이라 불러왔으며, ‘융합교과’는 그 구체적인 방안이었다. 그렇지만 기존의 융합교과는 공감적 개방성과 협력적 창의성이라는 플랫폼 역량의 두 핵심적 기본조건을 충족시킬 수 없으며, 이 점에서 필자는 플랫폼 교육을 지향하는 ‘융합교양’을 융합교과의 대안으로 제시하고자 하며, 그 구체적인 방안으로 Big Question 교육을 제안한다.
Abstract
This paper aims at recognizing the necessity of a ‘Convergent Liberal Education’ for cultivating the Platform competence required in the Platform Era stimulated by the new technological revolution, and at suggesting the ‘Big Question’ Education as a specific model of it. Our society has changed into a platform society due to Digital Transformation, thus the necessity of a convergence platform and convergence competence has been increasing. Platform competence means the cooperative creativity to produce a new creative result on the platform that makes intellectual cooperation among various fields possible. In this sense, the convergence platform has to have two core conditions, professionalism, and empathetic openness. We have called education, fostering this ability a Convergence Education, and the convergent discipline has had a central role. But this discipline could not able to fulfill those conditions due to its principle and system. To resolve this problem, I will suggest a concurrent platform education as an alternative, and propose the Big Question Education as a specific model of it.
