봉우(鳳宇) 연정(硏精)론의 생태학적 상상력 - ‘조식호흡’의 단학(丹學)을 중심으로

봉우(鳳宇) 권태훈(1900-1994)은 우리민족 전래의 사상체계를 계승한 구도자로 평가 받는 동시에, 그 사유의 신화적 토대, 단언적 예언 등으로 인해 허황한 국수적 민족주의 신념에 빠진 배타적 정신의 소유자라는 냉소적 비판으로부터 자유롭지 못하다. 이 글은 봉우의 유고(봉우일기 전 6권)에 나타난 글들, 즉 《천부경(天符經)》의 의미 및 홍익인간(弘益人間)의 이념에 대한 교설과 이 교설을 토대로 작성된 철학적 사색의 편린들 및 그가 살았던 20세기 우리사회의 정치, 경제, 역사, 문화 현실에 대한 관심과 비판, 그리고 미래의 전망과 세계사적 예언 등에서 읽히는 “위대한 숨꾼”의 상상력, 달리 쓰자면 ‘시적 이미지로 표출되는 현상학적 주관의 힘’을 규명하고 이를 통해 봉우의 사상체계가 사실은 생명의 보편성에 입각한 생태학적 단학(丹學), 즉 “조식호흡론”(調息呼吸論)의 차원에서 성립된 것임을 규명하고자 했다.
Abstract
Bong-woo (鳳宇) Kwon Tae-hoon (1900-1994) is evaluated as a seeker of truth who influence the traditional thought of the Korean people. And at the same time, however he is not free from the cynical criticism that he possessed an exclusionary spirit that had fallen into vain nationalist’s beliefs due to the mythological foundations of his thought and excessive prophecy. This paper aims to identify the great breather (respirant)’s imagination which is read about in Bong-woo's posthumous works (Bong-woo‘s Diary). This work provides not only the explanation of the Cheonbugyeong (天符經), the concept of the Hongik Ingan (弘益人間), and philosophical essays based on those explanations and thoughts, but also contains interesting comments and criticisms on the political, social, economic, historical, cultural realities of that time in his life, as well as future prospects and global historical prophecies founded on national love. In other words, this paper attempts to find out the "power of phenomenological subjectivity expressed in poetic images" through Bong-woo's posthumous works, and to reveal that in fact his thought system was established in terms of ecological Danhak (丹學), namely the theory of breathing (調息呼吸論), based on the universality of life.
