Abstract

Nietzsche is a modern moral philosopher who criticized the value concept of traditional metaphysics and insisted on establishing a new value. Nietzsche's philosophy of value from Heidegger's ontological point of view is that all actions and all realistic things in an era stand within the truth of Being, which has its own basis and background, its own way, goal, justification and certainty. Heidegger's later thoughts are about the truth of Being, and the internal connection of the basis, goals, values of Being that have been lost in modern nihilism. He clarifies that the meaning of value is that which we value as important. For Heidegger, the most important thing is that the meaning plays a role in assigning a measure of value. However, for Nietzsche, who declared the establishment of new values, humans embodying the will to power are the basis and measure of the truth about beings themselves. However, according to Heidegger, Nietzsche's philosophy of value is based on the modern way of thinking in which representation in modern philosophy transforms from that of cognition as acceptance into cognition as interrogation and judicial power along with the development of existence as subjectivity. Although Nietzsche criticizes traditional metaphysical propositions, from Plato's philosophy to the modern philosophy of Kant and Hegel, and attempts to establish new values, Heidegger points out that Nietzsche's philosophy is also the completion of metaphysics as a history of the being as oblivion. That is to say, traditional metaphysics ponders the existence of beings and does not think about Being itself. Therefore, Being remains as nothing in the history of metaphysics. According to Heidegger, this is the essence of nihilism. Heidegger explains that in order to overcome nihilism as the starting point of Nietzsche's new value establishment, we must think about the truth of Being that has been forgotten in metaphysics.
