인공지능 의료진단 기업 뷰노의 기술특례상장 사례 연구: 제도적 관점의 기술성ㆍ시장성 확보 전략을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 인공지능 의료진단이라는 새로운 사업 분야에 진출한 스타트업 뷰노가 기술특례 상장에 성공한 원인을 기술특례상장 기반이 되는 기술성과 시장성 확보전략을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 신산업의 경우 정부의 정책방향에 따라 초기 시장 형성, 성장속도가 영향을 많이 받는 현실에서 기업환경 요소로 정부와의 관계를 빼놓을 수 없다. 선행연구에 따르면 정부와의 관계에서 기업의 정치적 자원과 역량은 기업성장 및 비용 감소를 유도하여 기업의 경쟁우위 원천이 된다. 인공지능 의료기기 산업이 제도화되는 환경 속에서 뷰노가 정부와 관계에서 내부 자원과 역량을 활용, 기술성과 시장성을 확보한 전략을 제도화 이론 관점에서 분석했다. 아울러 이러한 기술성과 시장성 기반 하에서 향후 수익 창출가능성을 입증함으로써 기술특례상장에 성공하게 된 과정을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 우선 인공지능 의료진단 산업 특징, 제도 및 시장 현황 조사를 통해 산업의 특징을 고찰하였다. 그리고, 뷰노의 사업보고서, 감사보고서, 수시공시사항, 언론보도 등 공시된 자료를 바탕으로 사례 분석을 집중적으로 진행하였고, 또한 회사 임원을 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 AI 등 신기술 분야를 중심으로 기술 우위의 스타트업들이 활성화되는 것이 필수적인 현 시점에서 인공지능 의료진단 스타트업 기업의 집중적 사례연구를 통해 기술상장특례제도의 의미와 기업의 전략을 제도화 이론 관점에서 분석했다는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구 결과의 적용은 제도화가 아직 진전되지 않은 신산업분야에 한정적일 수 있고, 창업자의 특성, 재무자원 확보 등에 따라 기술성과 시장성 확보 전략이 다를 수 있다. 추후 산업 특성, 창업자 특성 등을 비교한 추가적 다중 사례 및 실증 분석 연구가 진행될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study investigates a strategy to secure technology and marketability in new industry for technology-based IPO. Especially in an environment where the artificial intelligence medical device industry is institutionalized, this study analyzes vuno’s strategies in respect of utilizing internal resources and capabilities in relation to the government. VUNO company (“vuno”) succeeded in Kosdaq market listing through a Technology Growth Company track. Technology and marketability are main factors to be listed on Kosdaq market through Technology Growth Company track. New industries are affected by the initial market formation and growth rate according to the government's policy direction. Relation with the government is a important factor of the corporate environment. In terms of technology, vuno has two internal resources. One is founders’technology capabilities and the other is its own artificial intelligence engine VUNONET. For artificial intelligence learning it is necessary to get high-quality data. Vuno is strategically trying to cooperate with hospitals in Seoul which are rich in data. In order to secure marketability, Vuno constantly tried to establish a consensus such as establishing an institutional foundation for the artificial intelligence medical device market and policy directions. Vuno participated in the entire licensing process for about three years. These results of this paper suggest that strategy such as improving technology through external cooperation and forming market consensus through continuous cooperation with the government are important.
