직장인의 성별, 나이 및 자기효능감의 창업의도에 대한 영향에 관한 연구: 기업가지향성의 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

대부분 창업연구는 창업자, 대학생, 시니어 등을 대상으로 국한되어있다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내 직장인의 신체적 특성(성별, 나이), 기업가지향성, 창업의도 간의 관계와 자기효능감, 기업가지향성, 창업의도 간의 관계에 대해 체계적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여성직장인의 창업의도와 기업가지향성은 남성직장인에 비해 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직장인의 자기효능감이 창업의도와 기업가지향성에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별과 창업의도 간의 관계에서 기업가지향성은 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 여성직장인의 창업의도가 낮은 것은 전적으로 그들의 기업가지향성이 낮은 것에서 기인한다고 해석될 수 있다. 넷째, 직장인의 기업가지향성은 자기효능감이 창업의도에 미치는 영향을 완전매개하고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 측면에서 중요한 가치가 있다. 첫째, 본 연구는 직장인의 성별, 기업가지향성, 창업의도 간의 구조적 관계와 자기효능감, 기업가지향성, 창업의도 간의 구조적 관계를 체계적으로 검증한 초기 국내 연구 중 하나이다. 둘째, 본 연구는 기업가지향성과 상관관계가 높은변수와 함께 성별이나 자기효능감이 독립변수로 포함될 때 성별이나 자기효능감이 창업의도에 미치는 영향이 감소할 수 있는 이유를 설명한다.

Abstract

Most entrepreneurship research has focused on entrepreneurs, college students, and seniors. This study aims to systematically examine the relationships among physical characteristics(gender, age), entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial intention, as well as the relationships among self-efficacy, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial intention in Korean employees. The results of our empirical analysis revealed are as follows. First, Korean female employees were found to have lower entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial orientation. Second, employees' self-efficacy was found to have a significant positive impact on both their entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial orientation. Third, entrepreneurial orientation was found to fully mediate the relationship between gender and entrepreneurial intention. In other words, the lower entrepreneurial intention of Korean female employees can be entirely explained by their lower entrepreneurial orientation. Fourth, it was also found to fully mediate the effect of self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intention. This study has significant value in the following aspects. First, it is among the first to systematically examine the structural relationships among gender, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial intention, as well as the structural relationships among self-efficacy, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial intention. Second, it explains why the effect of gender or self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intention may be diminished when included as an independent variable alongside the variables highly correlated with entrepreneurial orientation.
