In this study, we investigated the antioxidant activity, cytotoxicity, and anti adipogenic activity of Acer pictum Thub. var. mono (Maxim) Maxim extract. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of leaf and branch extracts were approximately 60-80%. The anti adipogenic activity of extract was examined in 3T3-L1 cells. Extracts suppressed the lipid accumulation in concentration dependent manner, and decreased the expression of PPARγ and C/EBPα. These results indicated that Acer pictum Thub. var. mono (Maxim) Maxim extract is potential sources of functional material for obesity.
