초록

The present study aimed to investigate the effects of ethanol extracts of Albizia julibrissin leaves on the differentiation process of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. For this study, two different ethanol concentration extracts (30, 95%) were prepared. Lipid accumulation tests using Oil Red O staining showed a decrease in a certain concentration range for each 30% and 95% ethanol extract. The 30% and 95% extracts suppressed triglyceride content up to 60% in a concentration dependent manner. Polyphenolic compounds were investigated in 30% and 95% extracts using LC/MS/MS. Hyperoside showed the highest content in both 30% and 95% extracts and Naringin showed a relatively higher content in the 95% extract than in the 30% extract. The effect of 95% extract on the expression of transcription factors PPARγ, C/EBPα and SREBP involved in the adipocyte differentiation stage was investigated. In the case of 3T3-L1 cells treated with 95% ethanol extract, the expression of PPARγ, C/EBPα and SREBP was significantly reduced compared to cells treated with differentiation medium alone in a concentration-dependent manner. Based on these results, the ethanol extracts of Albizia julibrissin leaves can be thought to have high potential for obesity.
