An Analysis on the Teaching Behavior of the Ballet Teacher

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of ballet teacher's analysis teaching behaviors. The subjects for this study were four ballet teachers who teach Cecchetti ballet and 32 students. The student's age ranges 8 to 9 years old. Videotaping was employed to collect the data through 10 lessons by the researcher. Data analysis were conducted based on QMTPS(Qualitateve Measurement of Teacher's Performance Scale) which was developed to datermine the qualitative behaviors of teachers. The results of this study indicated that the teacher who had higher QMTPS produced the teacher behavior. Three out of four teachers tended to show compensation in substitutes demonstration but more than times of demonstration were detected only 30.7% from four dance teachers. For cues, the average score for four teacher the quality of cue was 76.2%. The assessment feedback was only 44.2%. The results of this study suggested that the higher QMTPS guarantee better teaching high for teacher' behaviors. However, it was difficult to determine improvement that student's response according to the elevation QMTPS of teacher.
