This study is about Instrumental Dance, which is representing the instrumental music through the dance. There were many attempts expressing the music through the body movements in history, but in the classical music field, especially the instrumental music, it rarely happened. The purpose of this study is to provide the theoretical basis and find a way to express the instrumental music through the dance. Through the theoretical support from ‘Gesture of listening to the music’ by Vilem Flusser and actual examples of the instrumental music in 1829 and 2011, the study will suggest the new insight about the music and the dance.
Abstract
