This study analyzed the pivot turn of Korean dance and ballet through three perspectives of the Laban movement theory. The result of choreutique analysis of the two dances has spatial meaningfulness as a route for overall straight and curved movement. The ballet has a tendency a perpendicular plane whilst Korean dance has a tendency a vertical plane. In the effort study, the nuance of a turn in the two dances varies due to discrepancy in the elements of time and weight. Through cinétographie analysis, the ballet makes feet pointe or demi-pointe and the Korean dance makes the sole or the heel. The dissociation of a body occurs upon a movement in ballet and the synchronization of a body takes place in the Korean dance.
