Abstract
A two-factor model is not proper to explain the deterioration of income distribution in Latin America, so we suggest a three-factor model, which includes labor, capital, and natural resources. With globalization, Argentina, a country abundant in natural resources, expanded the exports and production of agricultural sector, increasing the compensation to natural resources and skilled labor which were used intensively in that sector. Mexico increased the exports and production of skilled-labor intensive goods, increasing the compensation of skilled labor and deteriorating the income distribution.
