초록
I investigate the Feuillet and Laban systems in order to discuss how they imply particular ideologies of body politics in the context of the French court and England’s mass production industry. Through a comparative analysis, I argue that the bodies’ spatial coordination and refined movements registered in the Feuillet notation system suggest the ideology of mastering a noble body under French monarchic authority. I claim that a person’s movement dynamics in the use of space, time, and weight captured in the Laban Effort system represent the ideology of mastering individualistic movement during England’s period of mass production industry.
Abstract
I investigate the Feuillet and Laban systems in order to discuss how they imply particular ideologies of body politics in the context of the French court and England’s mass production industry. Through a comparative analysis, I argue that the bodies’ spatial coordination and refined movements registered in the Feuillet notation system suggest the ideology of mastering a noble body under French monarchic authority. I claim that a person’s movement dynamics in the use of space, time, and weight captured in the Laban Effort system represent the ideology of mastering individualistic movement during England’s period of mass production industry.
