The purpose of this study is to determine how young female entertainers learned dancing and what kind of dances were performed at court and regions. The leaning of dancing was led by old female entertainers and Jangakwon teachers. Sometimes the young female entertainers in regions came to Seoul to learn dancing. Young female entertainers started dancing performance from 7 years old around and they used to be recognized around 8 years old by their accomplishments. Yeonhwadae was the most important dance what they performed at court while they also performed geommu, seonyurak, and hakmu. At regions, geommu was stood out as the most important one while seonyurak, yeonhwadae, heonseondo were also performed.
Abstract
