본 연구는 오늘날 다문화가 융합된 시대적 배경을 바탕으로 안무가 요안 부르주아의 <무위(Wuwei)>를 주요 연구 대상으로 한다. 안무가가 도교철학을 이용하여 창작한 작품을 탐색해 도교철학이 현대춤에 대한 추진과 혁신 작용 및 현대춤이 탐구할수 있는 철학성을 가지고 있음을 실증하고자 한다. 요안 부르주아는 도교철학의 활용을 통해 서커스와 현대춤, 도교철학과 서양 예술 장르, 동양 문화와 서양 시각을 융합해 현대춤 발전에 이바지 한 무용가다. 이 연구는 점점 더 많은 서양 안무가가 동양의 종교철학 사상을 참고하여 창작하는 현상 속에서 현대춤이 서로 다른 문화의융합을 통해 더 넓은 문화적 시야에서 자기 위치를 찾고, 서로 다른 문화를 포용하고수용해 현대춤을 독립적인 예술 스타일로 확립하는 기반 조성에 기여할 것이다.
Abstract
Based on the background of the current era of multicultural fusion, this study takes choreographer Yoann Bourgeois's work ‘Wuwei’ as the main research object. By exploring the works created by choreographers using the philosophy of Taoism, the study confirms that the philosophy of Taoism has the function of promoting and innovating modern dance and the philosophical nature of modern dance can be explored. Yoann Bourgeois contributes to the development of modern dance by living Taoist philosophy, fusing Taoist philosophy and Western artistic genres, Eastern culture and Western perspectives. The study is reflected in the phenomenon that more and more Western choreographers refer to Eastern religious and philosophical ideas in their creations. Through the fusion of different cultures, modern dance seeks to find its place in a wid- er cultural perspective. Tolerance and acceptance of different cultures lays the foundation for modern dance to establish an independent artistic style.
