최근 환경 문제가 중소기업에게도 중요한 관심사로 부각되고 있다. 국내에서도 세계 시장에서 경쟁력을 유지하기 위하여 ISO 14001 인증을 통한 환경경영시스템의 보급이 급속히 확산되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 중소기업들의 환경경영시스템(ISO 14001) 추진 및 인증단계에서의 주요 과정을 조사, 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 인증을 취득한 74개 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 응답 결과를 바탕으로 조사대상 기업의 주요 현황, ISO 14001 인증의 동기 및 목적, 인증 과정 중의 주요 단계별 결정 요인들, 인증 과정에서 직면한 주요 문제들을 파악하고 순위를 결정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 환경경영시스템의 도입을 원하는 여타 중소기업들이 ISO 14001을 성공적으로 구축하는데 필요한 핵심요인들을 이해하는데 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
In recent years, environmental issues have been become critical concerns of business even to the small and medium firms. Many domestic companies are rapidly accepting environmental management systems(EMS) that confirm ISO 14001 guidelines in order to remain competitive in the global market place. This paper aims to review and analyze major procedures during the pursuit and implementation of ISO 14001 in the small and medium firms. Upon resulting on questionaries surveyed 74 domestic small and medium companies already certified, this study identified and ranked key characteristics of the sample companies, motivational factors corresponding to ISO 14000 certification, detailed decision factors during major steps of the certification process, and problems and hindrance factors in adopting ISO 14001 standards. Results of this study could be useful to other small and medium firms that are in the process of adopting the standard where they do not have clear pictures of critical factors for successful implementation.
