본 연구에서는 광업 분야에서 무선식별시스템(RFID) 기술이 활용되고 있는 사례들을 조사하였다. 먼저, RFID 기술의 개념과 특징에 대해 조사하여 논문에 제시하였다. 해외의 사례로서 호주 Dendrobium 석탄광산, Norwich 석탄광산, 인도네시아 Pasir 석탄광산, 칠레 Los Bronces 동광산에서 채광작업의 효율성을 개선하기위해 RFID 기술을 현장에서 활용하고 있는 사례들을 소개하였다. 또한, 국내의 사례로서 대성 MDI 석회석광산(제천)과 포스코 마그네슘 제련 공장(강릉)에서의 RFID 기술 활용사례를 조사하여 논문에 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study investigated the utilization cases of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the mining industry. The concept and characteristics of RFID technology were presented in this paper. For oversea cases, four mining sites(i.e., the Dendrobium coal mine in Australia, Norwich park coal mine in Australia, Pasir coal mine in Indonesia and Los Bronces copper mine in Chile) were investigated where the RFID technology is used to improve the efficiency of mining operations. In addition, this paper described the Daesung MDI limestone mine (Jecheon) and the POSCO magnesium smelting plant (Gangneung) as domestic cases of the RFID utilization.
