초록
Helical fuel assemblies, with high specific surface area and excellent coolant mixing performance, have good application prospects in small modular reactors. This paper carries out numerical simulation for two archetypal helical fuel assemblies: Helical Cruciform Fuel (HCF) and Helical Trefoil Fuel (HTF). And it follows a comparative analysis of the coupled simulation of heat, fluid, and structure. According to the characteristics of the helical fuel rod structure, a mesh division method based on a four-domain partitioning is established. A thermalfluid- solid coupling model for the early life of the fuel element is developed and an analysis tool is used to compare the thermo-hydraulic performance and stress-strain response characteristics of the two assemblies. The results show the peak temperature of HCF assembly is 0.57 % lower than that of the HTF assembly, the peak velocity of the cross-flow is 26.6 % higher than that of the HTF, the hydraulic diameter is 12.67 % higher than that of the HTF, and the resistance coefficient is about 21 % higher than that of the HTF. The HCF is more susceptible to plastic deformation at the top of the cladding fin, while the HTF is more susceptible to plastic deformation at the root of the cladding fin.
