Abstract

This study is mainly on electronic word of mouth. Numerous studies on eWOM have been conducted to examine the effectiveness of negative or positive eWOM. However we can easily find two-sided message that include both positive and negative information in online reviews. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of one or two-sided word of mouth on brand and message attitude in message sidedness. One-sided WOM can be divided into two types, positive and negative. However most of companies control the negative review. In this study, we want to deal with positive eWOM and two-sided eWOM. And we also examined how involvement and message sidedness moderate eWOM effect. Results of current study indicate that brand attitude are more favorable with two-sided eWOM that positive eWOM. However the result suggests that there is no significant difference between positive and two-sided eWOM in terms of message attitude. And we also examine the interaction effect between eWOM and consumer involvement. In terms of message attitude, consumers’ message attitudes are more favorable with high involvement than low involvement in a positive eWOM.
