This paper is aimed at describing in a concise manner the recent development and trend having been taken place in the logistics and supply chain industry on a global scale and at proposing some ways to better understand the industry with the hope that we – researchers and scholars – become able to explain the practices currently being and to be happened in future. That is the ‘real’ contribution that we, researchers, are expected to make with the professional integrity.
