초록

= Abstract = Objective: This study aimed to identify spatial distribution and clustering patterns of hypertension and diabetes prevalence at the eup, myeon, and dong level in Chungcheongbuk-do. Methods: Data from the Korea Community Health Survey (2017-2021) were aggregated across five years for 153 administrative units in Chungcheongbuk-do. Spatial analyses were performed using QGIS and GeoDa. Global spatial autocorrelation was assessed using Moran’s I, and local spatial clustering patterns were identified through Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA). Results: Hypertension and diabetes showed higher prevalence in rural myeon areas and lower prevalence in urban dong areas. Statistically significant high-high (HH) clusters were concentrated in rural areas, while low-low (LL) clusters were mainly found in Cheongju si’s urban districts. Several spatial outliers (high-low and low-high) were also identified, indicating notable spatial heterogeneity. Conclusion: This study provides foundational evidence for developing locally tailored health promotion strategies by identifying health disparities at the eup, myeon, and dong level. In particular, expanding outreach-based health management services in high-risk rural areas is needed to strengthen systematic chronic disease prevention and management.
