관광소비 변화에 따른 서울의 관광자원 개발전략

Abstract

This study makes policy recommendations for the planning and development of the tourism resources in Seoul to meet the current trends of what some have termed the 'new tourism'.The motivations and institutional structures of modern tourism and the composition of tourists continue to evolve. We explore the transformation of the taste and preference of tourists throughout the different periods and the characteristics of the contemporary tourism in Seoul by linking some of the arguments of the previous studies with current developments in tourism. Our emphasis is on travel, individual choice, avoiding the package holiday travelers, and global operation that permits individual care and attention rather than tourism in general. In short, we focus on the "new tourism" experience.Seoul Metropolitan Government must consider these contemporary trends when generating tourism policies and resource developments. In order to successfully appeal to the discriminating taste of the so-called 'post-tourists', the Metropolitan Government must be able to provide them with a differentiated tourist attractions. For example, the tourist destinations can be organized into themes such as heritage, nature, culture, and so on.
