The present study deals with the impact of multi-dimensional concept of information quality on a user motives and their intentions to use knowledge search services. Previous literature shows that most studies of information search and processing have investigated the impact of (1) the amount of information, (2) personality characteristics, (3) and situational variables on decision-making quality and results, and have neglected the importance of information quality and its influence. To fill this gap, the present study identified six dimensions of information quality such as accuracy, expertness, timeliness, objectivity, relevancy, and completeness from previous systems research. The information quality dimensions have never been investigated from the perspective of consumers. The present study investigated the impact of this multi-dimensional concept of information quality on consumer motives and intentions from the perspective of the consumers. A survey result of 373 consumers using knowledge search services in Korea has confirmed that while accuracy, expertness, timeliness, and relevancy had a positive impact on the perceived ease of use, accuracy, expertness, objectivity, and relevancy had a positive impact on the perceived usefulness. Only two factors such as timeliness and relevancy had a positive influence on the perceived enjoyment. The current results also demonstrated that consumer motives such as the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, with the exception of the perceived enjoyment, are critical factors with increasing the user intention. Theoretical, practical implications and limitations of the present study are discussed in the conclusion.
