컨소시엄 형태의 원격대학을 위한 강좌평가 척도 개발

최근, 학습자들에게 양질의 교과목에 대한 선택의 폭을 넓힐 수 있을 뿐 아니라 효율적인 경비 절감이 가능한 컨소시엄 형태의 원격교육에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 이들 강좌들의 질적인 수준을 보장하기 위해서는 제도화된 평가가 뒷받침되어야 한다. 그러나 기존의 원격대학 강좌평가를 위한 평가도구는 학습자 간의 수준의 차이, 다양함이라는 컨소시엄의 특징을 반영하고 있지 못하므로 이러한 요소를 반영한 차별화된 평가척도의 개발이 요구된다.본 연구의 목적은 컨소시엄 형태의 원격 강좌에서 교수-학습의 효과성을 높이기 위하여 차별화된 강좌평가 척도를 개발하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 관련 문헌과 선행연구들을 분석하여 컨소시엄형태의 원격대학의 강좌평가 영역과 영역별 평가준거를 도출하고, 이를 바탕으로 구체적인 평가문항을 작성한 후 전문가의 타당성 검증을 걸쳐 컨소시엄형태의 예비 평가척도를 개발하였다. 이어 2차에 걸친 예비검사와 그 결과의 분석을 통해 11개의 평가영역, 총 52개 항목으로 구성된 본 검사용 평가척도를 개발하여 수강생 105명을 대상으로 본 검사를 실시하였다. 본 검사의 결과 분석을 통해 총 10개 평가영역에 44개 평가항목으로 구성된 평가척도를 확정하였다. 10개의 평가영역은 구체적으로 만족도, 학습자, 과제, 운영지원, 컨소시엄 차이, 피드백, 수업설계, 컨소시엄 다양성, 상호작용, 평가이었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable student rating scale to evaluate online courses in consortiums of cyber universities. Through a literature review, we have identified critical dimensions of student rating in off-line universities, cyber universities, and consortiums of cyber universities. With the critical dimensions, 52 items were created and a factor analysis was performed to check its construct validity. The emergent 10 factors were identified and 44 items were retained. The results of this study are as follows: First, the critical common dimensions of student ratings in off-line universities and cyber universities were 1)overall ratings, 2) Instructor/facilitator, 3) student, 4) interaction, 5) instructional design/organization/knowledge, 6) task, 7) evaluation, 8) system/support, 9) workload, 10) feedback, and 11) outcome. Second, critical dimensions to evaluate courses in consortiums of cyber universities were 1) overall ratings, 2) instructor, 3) student, 4) interaction, 5) instructional design, 6) task, 7) feedback, 8) evaluation, 9) system, 10) support, and 11) consortium. Third, the result of a factor analysis to prove the validity of the instrument identified 10 factors. Factor 1 was 'overall ratings', factor 2 was 'student', factor 3 was 'task', factor 4 was 'support(system and administration)', factor 5 was 'consortium I(difference between students)', factor 6 was 'feedback', factor 7 was 'instructional design', factor 8 was 'consortium II(diversity)', factor 9 was 'interaction', and factor 10 was 'evaluation'. In conclusion, the validity and reliability of this student rating scale was ensured to be used as a valid tool to evaluate courses in consortiums of cyber universities.
