인터넷 관련 부모의 태도 및 가정환경이 중학생의 인터넷 과다사용에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 인터넷 관련 부모의 태도 및 가정환경이 중학생들의 인터넷 과다사용(사용시간과다 및 인터넷 중독)에 미치는 영향이 어떠한지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 인터넷 사용과 관련된 가정환경요인들과 인터넷 사용에 대한 부모의 태도(통제 방식, 부모의 간섭과 신뢰의 정도) 등을 인터넷 과다사용에 영향을 미치는 변인들로 설정하였다. 이를 위해 부산시 남․여 중학생 437명을 대상으로 이러한 변인들과 인터넷 과다사용 정도에 관한 설문조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 인터넷 과다사용에 영향을 주는 가정환경변인에 있어서는, 중학생의 인터넷 사용시간과 관련성이 있는 요인들로는 ‘부모가 집에 계시지 않는 시간’, ‘결손가정여부’, ‘생활경제수준’, 그리고 가정에 설치된 ‘인터넷의 속도’ 등으로 나타났으며, 인터넷 중독과 관련성이 있는 요인들로는 ‘부모가 집에 계시지 않는 시간’으로 나타났다. 부모의 태도변인과 관련된 학생에 대한 통제방식 요인들 중에서는 인터넷 사용시간과 유의미한 관련성이 있는 것은 ‘시간을 정해놓고 인터넷을 쓰게 함’과 ‘공부와 관련이 없는 인터넷은 못쓰게 함’과 같은 요인들이었고, 인터넷 중독과 유의미한 관련성이 있는 것은 ‘부모가 컴퓨터를 사용하면 수시로 들여다 봄’과 ‘인터넷이 공부에 방해가 된다고 생각함’과 같은 요인들 이었다. 그리고 인터넷 사용과 부모의 간섭 및 신뢰 요인에 있어서 부모의 간섭 여부는 인터넷 과다사용과 유의미한 관련성이 없었던 반면, 자식에 대한 부모의 신뢰의 정도는 인터넷의 과다사용과 유의미한 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 중학생들의 건전한 인터넷 사용 지도를 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find what kinds of factors have more stronger relations with the figures of internet using behaviors than any other factors in family background, and to identify what sorts of relations they have with the parents' ways of control on internet using behavior. As the results of this study, the factors of family background such as the time period when a parent is absent, the loss of family member, the status of living-economic status, and the speed of internet were identified as the meaningful factors having a meaningful relation with the internet using time of students. Specially, among these factors, just the time period when a parent is absent was found as the factor having a meaningful relation with internet addiction, but no significant relation was found in the parent control. And, the parent's confidence toward the their children was identified that there was meaningful relation with internet overusing(internet using time and internet addiction), while the parent's concrete control had a meaningful relation just with internet using time but no relation with internet addiction. The results of this study can be used as useful information to have adolescences to use internet with desirable attitude.
