본 연구의 목적은 웹기반 동료 튜터링의 활용 방안을 탐색하고, 이를 토대로 웹기반 동료 튜터링 시스템 개발의 아이디어를 얻기 위함이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 최소한의 학습 활동 안내가 주어진 상황에서 웹기반 동료 튜터링의 적용 및 활용 연구를 수행하였다. 본 적용 및 활용 연구는 실제 웹기반 동료 튜터링에서 학습자들이 선호하는 교수 전략 및 시스템 기능 등이 무엇인지를 알아내어 구체적인 웹기반 동료 튜토링 시스템의 설계 방안을 탐색하기 위한 것이었으므로, 질적 분석 방법에 의하여 학습자의 학습 과정을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자들은 웹기반 동료 튜터링을 위해서 가장 우선적으로 학습 활동에 대한 계획 단계를 필요로 하였고, 동료 튜터를 학습 내용 전달을 위한 조력자로 좁게 해석하고 전통적인 교수 방식인 퀴즈 및 과제 내기 등의 교수 활동을 선호했음을 보여준다. 연구의 마지막에서는 이러한 결과를 토대로 웹기반 동료 튜터링 활용방안을 보다 명시화하는 방법으로 웹기반 동료 튜터링 시스템 설계에 대한 아이디어의 관점에서 제시하고 논의한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the principles of the implementation of web-based peer tutoring through a case study. For the purpose, this study explored the following three research questions: (1) what are the major characteristics of the web-based peer tutoring? (2) What are the instructional strategies and learning strategies that the participants prefer? And (3) what are the implications for the development of web-based peer tutoring system? The case study indicated that learners needed planning stage for their peer tutoring process and they preferred old fashioned instructional and learning strategies, including taking quizzes, assigning homework and so on. Based on the results, finally, some implementation ideas for developing web-based peer tutoring system were suggested.
