웹기반 문제중심학습 수업 사례연구: 성찰촉진방안 설계와 효과를 중심으로

본 연구에서는 학습자들의 PBL활동을 돕기 위한 성찰촉진방안을 제공한 PBL웹사이트를 개발하고, 이를 활용하여 온라인 활동과 면대면 교실 오프라인 활동을 병행한 PBL수업을 실시하였다. 실제 웹기반 PBL수업에서 설계된 성찰촉진방안이 PBL활동에 어떤 영향을 미치고, 대학생들이 웹기반 PBL학습경험을 어떻게 인식하는지 탐색하고자 사례연구를 실시하였다. PBL수업 웹사이트 설계 시 포함된 성찰촉진방안은 문제해결단계별 워크시트와 성찰질문제공, 팀활동histroy작성기능, learning log 및 성찰저널작성기능이였다. 설문지, 인터뷰, PBL웹사이트에 축적된 자료, 관찰 저널, 자기주도학습준비도 검사지를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석결과, 문제해결단계별 워크시트는 팀의 문제해결과정을 촉진시켜 PBL활동 수행에 도움을 주었고, 팀활동 history는 팀활동을 점검하고 반성하는 데 다소 긍정적으로 기여한 것으로 나타났다. learning log 및 성찰저널작성은 개별 학생들의 자기주도학습과정과 문제해결과정에 도움을 주는 긍정적인 작용을 한 것으로 확인되었다. 학생들은 웹기반 PBL학습경험을 대체로 만족스럽고 가치롭고 의미있게 인식하였으며, 팀 협업 활동의 어려움, 접속 장애 등을 어려움으로 지적하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 웹기반 PBL환경 설계에 대한 몇 가지 제언을 하였다.
Abstract
In this study, a PBL course website including reflection supporting tools that facilitate learners' reflection on PBL activities was developed, and then a web-based PBL undergraduate course with offline class meeting was implemented for 8 weeks. This study focused on investigating how the reflection supporting tools affect PBL activities and how students perceive the web-based PBL learning experience. The reflection supporting tools embedded in the PBL website were worksheets and reflection questions for each problem solving step in PBL process, team activity history, and learning log (reflective journal). Case study method was used and the multiple sources of data were collected as follows: questionnaires, interviews, researcher's journal, SDL readiness scale(Learning Preference Assessment), the PBL website records, interviews, etc. The results of the data analysis showed that the reflection supporting tools in the web-based PBL course facilitated learners' self-directed learning process and teams' problem solving process. The undergraduate students who participated in the PBL course mostly perceived the web-based PBL experience as valuable and meaningful. Most of students were satisfied with the PBL learning experience. Also, students had difficulties in effectively performing as a team and encountered technical problems including Internet access, etc. Finally, several guidelines were suggested for designing web-based PBL environment.
