미국 내 히스패닉 여성들의 사회적 지위와 위상에 관한 고찰: 마치스모에 대한 분석을 중심으로

초록

Abstract

La cifra de las mujeres hispanas, quienes residen en Estados Unidos, está expandiendo rápidamente y han salido muchos estudios sobre el estado social de las hispanas relacionado con el machismo en las últimas décadas. Muchos feministas han criticado el machismo considerando que es un fenómeno cultural propio de la sociedad hispana que no lo existe en la sociedad anglosajona. Según ellos, las mujeres hispanas se deben asimilar a la cultura anglosajona desviando lo más pronto posible de la comunidad cultural hispánica para que ellas no sean más las víctimas del machismo. Por lo tanto, ellos postulan que la cultura hispánica es inferior a la anglosajona y su sufrimiento se debe a la inferioridad del sistema social del mundo hispánico. Pero, el machismo no es un fenómeno propio del mundo hispánico y las mujeres anglosajonas también sufren por el dicho machismo. Pues, la existencia del machismo en la sociedad hispana es una gran fantasía y el bajo estado social de las hispanas en Estados Unidos no se debe al machismo sino a su bajo estado social. El presente trabajo analiza los problemas de las inmigrantes hispanas en Estados Unidos y concluye que el racismo y el sistema económico de la sociedad anglosajona causan el sufrimiento y el maltratamiento de las mujeres hispanas.
