초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화가정 학생, 사회적 배려대상 학생, 일반학생들을 대상으로 APEC 에듀테인먼트교류프로그램(AEEP) 기반 해외 체험학습을 적용하여 참여자의 다문화에 대한 인식변화를 살펴봄으로써 그 효과를 확인하는 데 있다. 연구에 사용된 AEEP는 온-오프라인의 블랜디드와 글로벌 환경을 기반으로, 참여자들이 자기 주도적으로 개발한 프로젝트를 현지의 인적, 물적 자원을 활용하여 체험학습 활동을 수행하는 과정에서 주제와 활동에 대한 반성적 사고를 동반하도록 구현된 청소년 국제교류프로그램이다. 따라서, 기본적으로 사전-현지-사후활동의 구조로 되어 있는 AEEP에, 본 연구의 목적과 대상에 맞게 사전 다문화교육 강화, 현지 인적네트워크 활용 참여자 활동 지원 및 참여자 성찰활동 강화, 사후 활동 보고회를 통한 학습효과의 지속성 지원 등의 특징을 추가하여 이를 재구조화하였다. 이렇게 구현된 프로그램은 전라남도 G지역 초등 및 중학생 총 126명을 대상으로, 이 활동에 참여한 다문화가정 학생의 어머니 나라인 중국, 일본, 필리핀, 베트남에서 적용되었다. 참여자의 다문화 인식 변화를 알아보기 위해 실시된 사전-사후 설문조사, 인터뷰 및 감상문 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교류국(4개국)에 대한 이미지가 긍정적으로 변화하였다. 둘째, 다문화 수용성, 글로벌 공동체 의식, 국가정체의식, 시민의식 등 4개 영역에서 학생들의 인식이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 셋째, 학생 인터뷰 및 감상문 등의 질적 자료 분석에서도 다문화 가정 학생의 자아의식 성장, 교류국가에 대한 이미지의 긍정적 변화와 타 문화 이해 향상, 글로벌 공동체의식 성장 등의 변화가 있었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of a program which appropriately specialized already developed APEC Edutainment Exchange Program (AEEP)-based overseas work-study for multicultural family students, socially underprivileged students and general students, for the change of their perceptions. For this, this study is designed by applying specialized AEEP model for the total of 126 elementary and middle school students in G area in Jeollanam-do, which has been carried out in China, Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam, mother countries of the multicultural family students who participated in the program. The characteristic of the specialized AEEP program is that several matters are added as follows based on the principles and procedures of the existing program: 1) strengthening of group education, 2) small group interview and discussion, 3) giving appropriate roles to those from multicultural family and socially-considered students, 4) interview with local leaders who can inspire pride of multicultural family students and design of voluntary service, 5) empathy and futuristic meditation, 6) interest and consideration of local government and international ALCoB Community. After completion of activity, pre and post survey, interview, and report (daily reflection notes) analysis were conducted to verify the difference of perceptions. The results are as follows. First, image of exchange countries (4 countries) has been positively changed. Second, in the statistics, students' perceptions have been significantly increased in 4 areas of multicultural acceptability, sense of global community, national identity and global citizenship. Third, through the qualitative analysis of the interviews and the reflection notes, we were assured that self-consciousness of students with multicultural backgrounds was positively changed and participating students’ understanding of multiculture was increased.
